【Description of Item】
The fifth-generation Silvia (S13 type) was released in 1988. The 180SX, a sister car of the 180, debuted in 1989 with a special front mask with retractable headlights and a body with a hatchback rear section while using the basic components. As a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a multi-link suspension at the rear, it boasted high handling performance and later became very popular as a base for modification into drift vehicles. The 180SX was produced without any major changes until 1999, when the sister car Silvia switched to the sixth generation (S14 type) in 1993 and was about to move on to the seventh generation. The motif that Hot Wheels chose for the 180SX is the later model that appears in the background of the parking lot scene in the third movie of the "Fast & Furious" series, "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift", out of the early, mid, and late models.
