[Setting explanation] "Definition Armor" is a new weapon category that aims to be smaller and lower cost by applying the technology of "Bulk Arm α", which was successful as a bipedal humanoid heavy Hexa Gear.

The components in the early stages of development are constructed as a system centered around a new reinforced exoskeleton that covers the Governor with simple armor and a power unit, and connects working limbs such as legs and arms to the outer periphery. This "Scarecrow" specification was put into actual combat tests with the promise of being a new reinforced exoskeleton that would allow for high mass production and the use of heavy weapons by infantry, but it was not as robust as the Bulk Arm α. Because only a simple bipedal walking device was available, it was evaluated as having "middling performance in all aspects". In this way, Definition Armor sought the optimal solution as a weapon, and began to modify it in order to further reduce its weight and improve mass production.

The new model equipped with a large propulsion device at the rear is called the "Aerial Fighter" and is capable of high-speed deployment through low-altitude jumping maneuvers, which was impossible with the bulk arm series.

The legs have a minimum frame structure that can support the aircraft, and the working limbs that make up the arms have also been changed to simple ones that are only used to suspend weapons, and the appearance is already difficult to describe as "humanoid". However, due to its high linear acceleration similar to that of cavalry, it was discovered to be useful as a ground assault force, and eventually mass-produced in a certain number.

Although its initial reputation was low, the name "Woodpecker", which is equipped with a single stunning lance and can knock slow enemy planes down with a sharp stab, has become widely known, and an extremely small unit uses its mobility as a weapon to defeat heavyweight aircraft. The sight of him facing Hexa Gear brought enough shock to the battlefield to remind us of the arrival of a new generation.
