【Description of Item】
The Skyline was launched in 1957 as Prince Motor Company's flagship model before it was absorbed into Nissan. The company had long been active in motor sports to showcase its technological capabilities, and one of the highlights was the GT, a competition vehicle based on the second-generation Skyline. The second-generation Skyline was a family sedan equipped with an economical 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, but in order to win the second Japan Grand Prix, Prince Motor Company manufactured about 100 GTs equipped with a powerful 2-liter 6-cylinder engine from the company's large luxury sedan, the Gloria, by stretching the body, and obtained homologation. Although the company took on the second Japan Grand Prix in perfect condition, it lost the victory to a Porsche 904 brought by a privateer, but the Skyline GT monopolized the top positions below. Since then, the Skyline GT has become synonymous with high-performance sedans and is loved by car enthusiasts to this day. Hot Wheels has reproduced the car in a new mold. The color scheme is based on that of the car driven by #39 Yoshikazu Sunako, which finished second in the GT-II class behind a Porsche at the second Japanese Grand Prix.
